blue string soup - aka fuse box access
Discussion
oh god oh god oh god - so I've blown the 40amp (yes 40amp) fuse on me Tiv (twin cooling fans) & have to go truffling thru the blue string soup of carpet, ecu box, dangling relays, wire connectors and duck tape that pass for chim electrics...only to be confronted by an orange fuse that simply won't bloody shift without the application of industrial torque from the narrow-head pliers in me left hand and the headtorch in me right hand (but it's a head torch. ed) in the dark with the rain starting and general feelings of cramp & numbness in my knee and wondering if I should adopt the upside down position on the seat I've heard about somewhere on PHeds....why oh why oh why....aaaargh!!!!!
I need a nissan micra.

T/.
How long were you in there, Tref? as a matter of interest, you understand? And which part of your being hurt the most - I'm still recovering today...
I remember reading the simple instructions for taking out the battery.... inserting myself upside down in the passenger footwell with the roof off and trying to extricate the battery over my head as suggested. The dawning realisation that you can't get back out comes as a bit of a shock and caused much merriment for my neighbours who came out to the sight of my legs thrashing about in the air trying to get the leverage necessary to inch backwards up the leather seat !!!
Haha.
Well sympathies from this numpty who's been trying to remove the rubber pannel thing from the kickplate, thinking that's what the manual meant, just to take a look at the battery. Then once I realise you just pull the whole pannel off and finding loads of electrical gunk inside and thinking "OK, 9 quid for the ciggy lighter adaptor will be money well spent".
And there's no way on earth I'm going to get in upside down - I hardly fit in the drivers seat the right way up!
