Transporting a car from Europe (Italy) to UK

Hi folks - I'm planning a road trip from the UK to Maranello next year and am considering getting the car shipped back and flying home - we have a pretty tight time window in which to fit the trip and I'd rather take a few days extra on the way down to Italy rather than have to use probably 3 days to drive back.

Does anyone have any recommendations of which company to get quotes from?

Alternatively, would you be prepared to let someone else drive it home? Could be a great PHer double holiday to meet you at the airport and drop it off at home for you.

following with interest, I was considering doing it the other way around. To follow the Mille Miglia and wondered if id have issues with the European authorities trying to claim my car was being imported.

i have a friend in Antibes that i could potentially send the car too

Probably wasn't my first thought...but not being discounted out of hand just yet!
