The rear badge / boot release on my T350C has flaked badly, something I think afflicts most other 350's.

Has anyone had a replacement badge? Under warranty:hehe:

Here's hoping:biglaugh:

Cheers,

Mart

Mines getting on a bit (2003) so I doubt they'll do it under warranty. Can you buy them and get them fitted?

They do all seem to do it so I don't see why it should not be covered under warranty on the basis that they do not comply with the sale of goods act: "...of satisfactory quality...". Worth a punt?

Had my rear badge replaced under warrenty at the 6000 mile service. The original badge was flaking within 6 weeks of getting the car.

I'm guessing this one will go the same way in the not so distant future - come on Leven...

I had my Badger replaced under warranty after only 3 months. The little bugger kept getting out of his cage and digging a 'set' in my garden. Hopefully it won't happen again though 'cos i have been given a 2005 model, just need to run it in properly now.....

I've already spoken to them. Apparently, the problem is because of the badge itself. Usually, TVR badges are made of metal and can therefore be recoated/treated. The t350 badge is plastic and therefore cannot be treated in the same way. Third party companies are not able to produce a metal t350 badge because the logo is copyrighted.

Yes but it's not the badge itself that corrodes, it's the chrome plated mounting plate that it sticks to (whether on the front or the back). It is surely TVR's responsibility to provide a piece that lasts. After all, the badges should be a benchmark for the quality of the car (see Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes BMW...) - on this basis, the Tuscan is the only quality car TVR make (and now available with undisguised Ford Focus column stalks)!

I know I have a Tuscan, so am on the wrong forum... but the rear badge on my Tuscan S has flaked after only 5 months... being replaced at the moment... along with the clutch and gearbox!

Leven is a 3rd party company that produces many products which feature TVR's logo. I realise that most of Leven's badges are just modified versions of the originals but they are sold as if they were 'new'.

I can't see TVR taking anyone to court for producing an item to be fitted to one of their cars, and features their logo.

The badges are recoated, not reproduced. I asked Leven directly when at a show, and they said they weren't allowed to do it.

TVR are very touchy about their logo; it's a trademark, so "reproduction without permission" could see you in hot water...

I had this problem with the rear badge on my Tam last year. The salt got under the plating and lifted the chrome of the alloy. (It is the later type badge, ie the ones they are fitting currently)

I bought a replacement and fitted it myself. It comes in 2 parts, the base plate with the fixing studs and the enameled plastic badge that sticks in onto the base plate.
