Any fee-sharing solicitors here?
Discussion
My wife is being made redundant from her firm and we're giving serious consideration to a fee sharing arrangement for her next job. It's potentially better pay and flexibility instead of working for a traditional firm.
Our main concern is quality of secretarial support for her niche area of law (public children law) and flexibility around other part-time professional commitments. She will want to work 3.5 days a week on average.
We also need to investigate what costs would fall to her instead of a firm, with this arrangement (practicing certificate, costs draughtsman, etc)
Interested to hear if anyone's worked in or with these types of firms and your experiences!
Thanks!

I run my firm on a fee sharing basis - all the solicitors are consultants working on a profit sharing basis (agreed with the individual based on some personal circumstances when joining)
The freedom and flexibility is appreciated by all. They do not pay for anything and have no liabilities. If they want admin staff that would be at their cost, but PII, case management, IT, stationery, advertising etc is all covered by my firm.
