I've a rear brake system from my Kawasaki GPz to strip and rebuild.

What is a good solvent to flush and clean out the system?

And I suppose what is the best way of disposing.

Thanks

Rinse with petrol first then a spray over/through and wipe with brake cleaner, just because they come easiest to hand. Other valid options include white spririt, wd40 etc.

Any fluid get rid of in the same way as used engine oil, paper towels in the bin.

That's great, thank you. Gives me a use for the year old can of petrol I've got!

If it's not that badly contaminated I'd probably just flush with clean brake fluid.

It's to rebuild the master and slave cylinder, replacing hoses etc

I would still only go with clean brake fluid personally.

That's the only sensible option IMO.
