As per title….booked a break over new year but the car hire is a fortune from the usual big names as in 400 euros for a week.

Does anyone know any independents? Don’t care if it’s a 15 year old 206 or something.

Always use Autoreisen or Payless.es.

Book online, cheap, no upgrade tosh, keys in no time, drive away, return with same petrol, no inspection.

Pay when you get there, no deposit.

I usually get a Citroen C3 with Autoreisen or a Fiat Panda/500 with Payless. Both brilliant and totally hassle free.

Both airport foyer pickup, car park across the road. Usually takes half hour at most if there's a queue at all.

Always prefer an older beat up rental, that way there is no worries when handing it back

I always used autoreisen previously with no issues. The problem is instead of the usual £150 it’s £350 due to the time of year.

I remember a number of years ago getting an old 206 1.1 from a random independent in Tenerife for a third of the price of the big boys. Nothing on Google so just wondering if anyone has a similar contact for fuerteventura.

We book through www.zestcarrental.com and had a Renault Clio from Payless. No issues on collection or return and going through Zest there is no hard sell at pickup - just complete paperwork, collect keys and drive away.

I used Cicar last year and they were hassle free.

Autoreisen is my go to option in the canaries - never had a single issue with them.

Another vote for Cicar - no hassle service.

Depending on when you are arriving at the airport, the queues can be long so worth getting someone to go through whilst others wait for luggage.
