Hilux 2.5 or 3.0?

My son is looking for a pickup in the £5-10k range.

I’ve had a few L200’s from new and got on fine with them but I wouldn’t recommend an older one - seem to have lots of issues, ditto with Navaras.

Plenty of Hiluxes in the 2010-2015 age around for that money, anyone know the pros and cons of the 2.5 v 3.0? Fuel economy not a huge issue, reliability is more important.
