Looking for one that has reasonable cycles.
I don't want to wash a single pair of socks for 3 hours.

A quick wash where i can set temp from 0 to 90.
And spin at 1400.

Fed up of seeing quick washes that are only cold or only spin at 800 or 1200.

My current cheap beck is not smart at all.
Can set temp, spin at anything i like.
And 28 min quick wash.

But partner reckons it smells.

Thanks

Phil.

You don’t need a new washing machine you need these:

Put two through on separate cycles and it will smell like roses smile

Most good quality ones have the option for a fast (but less eco) setting on all the their normal ponderous standard modes.

Our Bosch Serie 8 has a standard Quick 15/20 minute wash, but that cycle only spins at 1400rpm. However it can drop the standard time for all other cycles (Cottons, Mixed, Easy Care etc.) to between 45 mins to 1 hour using the "SpeedPerfect" button and with those it can spin most at 1600rpm, which reduces line or tumble drying time. Temp is adjustable on all cycles. If you don't use the SpeedPerfect function the cycles are very long 2 to 2.5 hours, we never use it in those modes!

A new machine because one is a bit dirty does seem like overkill...

Throw in a decent sized dose of oxy powder & run a hot wash with high water fill & some rags chucked in, which should clear out any detergent & conditioner build up & kill the organics, though might foam madly from all the freed detergent. The water might look terrible & might need a couple of rinse cycles to be rid of all the loose bits that will appear.

Then a similar run with some citric acid to strip any scale buildup if that's a problem (same stuff as the packaged cleaners use, just much cheaper as a raw ingredient).

Then once all that's done remember to leave the machine door open after use so it dries, so you don't end up with smells again.

Not ours, we've always had 1600 spin machines, well worth the extra outlay IMO.

I understand that sensible cycle times was one of the selling points of the Ebac machines?
