So after having a huge selection of proper sheds I finally found something that’s still a shed but a bloody good one. I sold my E91 335d that was slightly messed about when my step dad fell ill, it was a car I didn’t want however fell in love with. Regretted selling it the minute it left.

Pics off 335d

Since that I had a range of cars from a 172 to a 280k Alfa 159. Done a bit of flipping and making some good money on some cars I felt the need for another estate while I save for an M2, I couldn’t have another E91 as it wouldn’t be a patch on my 335d and then I stumbled across my new addition. The 530d which is handed over just 2k for.

Spec includes pan roof
Full service history history
Only 4 owners
New battery
4 new tyres
New arms front and rear
Gearbox serviced
Needs glowplugs soon otherwise it’s mint.
Only 200k on the clock ??

Plans are to smash miles on it, wheels to get redone in bright silver, black badges and new grills, lower it slightly. Maybe a down pipe and a map but I’ll see how reliable it is over winter first.

Hoping the next couple of weeks I can give it a single stage correction to really make it mint. Happy shedding

That's a lot of bus for the £££

M57; solid engine too. It'll serve you well if looked after

Get the swirl flaps done if they haven't been already and keep it freshly oiled etc and it'll eat miles for breakfast wink

It'd look superb on a set of Style 218s too biggrin

Great looking car, not sure I'm convinced about the black badges, downpipe, (assume DPF delete as well) mods.

I am debating keeping the silver badges to match the wheels. Like above I won’t do anything engine wise just yet until the car proves itself reliable. Ideally will keep dpf as they skint when deleted. Can’t wait to smash some miles in it!

Great spec, I had a pre-LCI 530d with a remap and it absolutely flew. Powerband narrower than the 35d unit, but in a way more aggressive. Got rid because torque converter had broke and it constantly slipped, leading to 25 mpg combined (compared to 34 mpg combined in LCI 535d).

You're looking at around £700 for a SACHS torque converter plus labour. While you're at it, worth doing service, software update and mechatronics/solenoids. You're about £2k at that point, which is why I didn't bother, sold mine and got an LCI with a much stronger gearbox.

So my advice is enjoy it, should be fine for a while if there's no slippage, if it fails, sell and put your £2k towards an LCI.

Don't know where you're based but RGA Services Nottingham are great for BMW gearbox servicing.

Spent yesterday morning sorting the cloudy headlights. Knocked years off.

Blacks grills fitted also

Gave it a quick scrub, think the prop doughnut is on its way out due to a slight vibration so when it’s in for lowering I will get that done aswell as replace all the engine and gearbox mounts.

Looking good. thumbup

Hopefully it will fill the void left by your 335d - maybe with a remap!

Looks really smart. Shame they weren’t as popular as the e39. Not many sheds for me to choose from.

A handsome bus and it certainly looks more than £2K's worth smile

What's the interior like?

Looks a good old bus. Are those number plates legal?

There genuine carbon fibre with just a sticker over the top, however I’ve only been stopped once and have them a good 12 years. There very clear to read so don’t cause to many issues

There's only one legal font. If pulled you might get issued a ticket.

Aware of this however never had an issue so I’ll risk it until otherwise.

I wasn't aware the LCI has a different gearbox. The controller is different but the gearbox is I think the same.

The 8-speed which came with the F10/F11 is far more reliable.
