Current kia sorrento - which engine

My wife's evoque is coming up for renewal and she quote like the current sorrento, but which engine is best?
They offer a 2.0 diesel or 1.6 petrol in either hybrid or plug in hybrid.
Has anyone tried these and if so what are your thoughts? Either engine we'd be looking at the 3 spec, year old will get us one for about 40k ish.

I think the best engine would entirely depend on your use case.

5 days a week commute, 12 miles each way.
Approx 10k a year with regular 90 miles each way journeys at weekends

In which case both the diesel hybrid & regular diesel will work for you, I'd look for the best deal & go from there.
The petrol hybrids can work too.

I've had the petrol hybrid for 3 years, 12k a year and 20 mile each way commute. I've found it fine, average 37 mpg. Battery is good for up to about 30 mph if you have a light touch so town driving is pretty much battery only. It's been a good car.

Thank you. How do you find the power and torque? That's my only concern it being a little 1.6 in such a big car

Found it fine. It's a bit thrashy when you plant it and it'll never win a traffic light grand Prix; I'm sure the diesels will have more mid range poke (never driven one) but it's not trying to be anything other than a family wagon which it does very well. We've just done 500 miles up to and around the lake district and many trips to Norfolk 5 up with no problems. I came from a Volvo V90 diesel and this is more refined (seats were better in Volvo) and surprisingly just as economical.

Lease finishes in Jan and kids are all at uni now so don't need anything this big. If I did I'd put an offer in on mine, especially with 4 years warranty left.
