Fairly typical of people who drive vehicles that don't struggle in deep water - they don't seem to be capable of thinking about anyone other than themselves. It's usually SUV drivers though.

Yes maybe he needed to get to a field/do something farming related etc. But he drove through like an idiot pure and simple.
Must be due care or reckless criminal damage, if no offence a grovelling apology and donation to the flood fund seems in order.

I'm in two minds about this tbh.

One could think, well the shops will all need a lot spending on them for repair so did this really cause any more damage?

Or, yes he should at least have a letter through the door ask him to 'pop in for a chat' at the station and fined accordingly.

Not a good time for farmers to be putting themselves in the spotlight by pissing people off. Obviously people shouldn't be tarred with the same brush but that's inevitably what happens.

Presumably no issue with someone going around and throwing bricks through the windows instead? After all, they were going to have to spend some ££ or repairs anyway?

The BBC has a similar video https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj0jl8973meo, but the second half has a clip from inside one of the buildings.

Pretty indefensible, hopefully both the criminal damage and dangerous driving charges go ahead.

I don't think it's dangerous driving is it? Inconsiderate driving and being a fosho.

It'd be handy to know what he realised, although we all know many farmers are an awkward bunch (one lives on my street, I have great jollity with the rest of my neighbours but he just looks at the rest of us in a funny way) so may not be able to get that out of him. It reminds me a bit of holiday makers on the norfolk broads recklessly ignoring the speed limit which certainly seems wayyyyyyyy too low until you realise this sort of thing can happen.

A stupid thing to do. And I’m a farmer too. No need to drive through town anyway. If he had gone slowly, the outcome would have been different but creating a massive wave that broke windows and causing even more damage is unforgivable.
