New clutch - lots of bits?
Discussion
I need a new clutch for a 2002 Tuscan at 27,000 miles as some of the little metal fingers have snapped off (apparently a common problem).
I've spoken to a couple of TVR dealers, both were very helpful, one said just replace the clutch, but the other recommended replacing the flywheel, bell housing inner, and most of the slave cylinder innards too.
Doing the whole lot doubles the cost, so I don't want to do it just for fun. When others have had this done have they replaced the whole lot or just the clutch?

I've just spoken to TVR Power and they suggest that it's only on the early cars that you need to change the bell housing. They recommend just the clutch, bearing, and slave cylinder seals, for my 2002 car.
I'm still none the wiser, does anybody have any invoices for having this done where they can see what parts have been charged for?

I had mine done a few months ago. Cost was approx £1k I think, although it was covered by my warranty so I don't know the exact amount.
I had a new clutch plate, release bearing and slave cylinder, although all 3 components were damaged after the release bearing seized which ripped the fingers off the clutch plate and melted the slave cylinder seals

diver said:Not in my case, but I guess it's possible that if the fingers got caught between the flywheel and the clutch plate they could possibly cause enough damage to warrant the flywheel being replaced or at least re-skimmed.
I feel for you... Especially as I'm in Spain with this broken clutch. You definitely didn't need a new flywheel then?
