Starts 16th Dec at 9pm on BBC1.

I've read the book and enjoyed it, will be interesting to see how it plays out on TV as quite a bit of the story was played out in online chats.

I never realised these were Rowling books.

Last two series were directed by Susan Tully from Eastenders fame, which I also never realised!

And for those of a certain age, Grange Hill fame. She had directed quite a few well known drama series.

Looking forward to this series as I enjoyed all the previous ones.

Look forward to watching this over the Christmas period

The book was one of, if not my least favourite installment in the series, should work better on screen

Watched the first episode last night, not impressed which is a shame as really enjoyed all the previous series.
Me and the wife looked at each other 30 mins in and both agreed neither of us had a clue what was going on hehe
We'll stick with it though.

Thanks for the heads up, Sky seem to be presenting all of them to download even though part four says "aired 24th December"

I saw someone else say this on a different forum, it surprised me as the whole episode seemed perfectly easy to follow. And just for context, I've never read the books.

I also lost interest after around 30 minutes. The online gaming stuff bores me silly and trying to follow who is who was tedious. Also, the obsession with right wing trouble makers is so 1980’s. The scenes in the park where one of them is filming himself being racist was ridiculous . A shame as the production quality, acting and settings are excellent and so watchable. Not sure I can stay awake long enough or care very much about “whodunnit” to watch it to the end.

Watched the first episode last night. I thought it was OK. Will probably stick with it. Have watched all the previous series.

Same here. I think we've both given up on it.

Agreed - my wife said “well that’s an hour of my life I’ll not get back!”
Thought it was slow and a pretty dire storyline.
Needless to say we won’t be watching any more.

It's one of those things that follows what is seemingly a trend for being filmed in the dark. The night scene was almost a black screen.

I've watched the first two episodes and I agree it's not as good as previous series but will watch the other two episodes for completeness and in hope it gets better.

It was a poor book. Pages of online chat transcripts and I made the mistake of listening to the audiobook. I felt for the bloke having to record that. The next book is much better.

Wife was sitting at her Dad's said she isn't into this internet dark stuff
Her Dad fell asleep.

I enjoyed the book.

J have watched 2 episodes and I feel thd TV adaptation has lost alot of the depth of characters around the game and the plot line. It was never going to be easy, as previously mentioned alit of the book is online transcripts and Twitter feeds.
