I must admit I don't drink tea, but this is saddening none the less.

Just before they were selling said Factory.
Although I am sad to see the demise of any British firm and associated jobs I can't remember ever having bought Typhoo.
Grew up with tea leaves at home and went on to Tetley when I moved out of home, then Twinings for about the last 15 years.
Maybe it was the fact that in the grand scheme of things tea isn't a very expensive commodity, and people like a premium brand, so they were in that trap that many brands found themselves in, can't compete with the very cheapest on price, can't move into a profitable market segment as the brand isn't premium enough.
One of those firms that in my head look like Sunshine Desserts.
