Racing has just started at Watkins Glenn in the Indy Car series and Dan is set to win the Indy Car championship if he keeps it together :)
Nice to see British success over the water :)

Great track and a pretty good race - nice drive by Dixon.

So, will we see him in F1 soonish, or is he better off staying in the States and fighting for wins week in, week out?

He was champion before he even set off from the grid, all he had to do was qaulify and it gave him enough points to take the title.

From what i understand he had to cover half distance to get the points needed, but then i heard all he had to do was start the points scoring over there is very confusing to say the least!

Well done to him though

Looks like Williams are now very interested in him after letting Button go.

Maybe he should be in F1?

Hmmm, shades of Zanardi???

Only possible benefit is that he would appease the sponsors who want a UK driver. BUT, Wheldon doesn't exactly have a high profile in the UK, and it would take him a while to get used to an F1 car after all that time in the USA. Anyone remember Franchitti's disastrous test in the Jag F1 a few years ago. He moved his bum straight back to the USA, unsurprisingly!!!

What? That half-arsed go in a car that Jaguar called a 'test'? It was hardly a decent run and it was a piss poor Jaguar, after all!

Give him the Williams seat. He'd give Webber a run for his money.

Just an aside..

Who's Wheldon's Team Boss?

A certain Michael Andretti is it not?...He did well in F1 didn't he?

My gran would give Webber a run for his money, the most over-rated driver in F1 history surely. I can't see a top team giving Wheldon a drive, he quit the UK because he couldn't fund an F3 season and has been in the States ever since. Strange cicuits + strange car + high expectations = massive embarressment for whoever gives him a drive.

Juan Pablo Montoya made a pretty good transition from Indy Cars to F1.

ditto that - Webber is great at self PR but the most untalented and consistantly under performer on the grid

Yes, but he had shown what he could do in F3000, he had a strong reputation in Europe, which Wheldon does not. I'm not saying Wheldon couldn't make it in F1, but IMHO he'll struggle and he'd be a big risk to employ.

Must admit that Webber moving to Williams, the performance has been more like Jaguar days! Bet he feels at home. I think Williams should take a punt on Rosberg, think he might blow the wind up Webber and his dad would be a powerful source of pushing his lad up the ladder.

I know Wheldon may not cut it in F1, but look at the chaff in F1 at the moment, I'd say six at least should be put out to grass.

Interesting that Timo Glock is doing a good job in CART at the moment, then again so is Justin Wilson (OK who bought shares in 'Just Justin' ?!!! )
