So in the next 2/3weeks or so we will be completing on a house and the floors downstairs are all wood, does anyone have the best methods to keep this nice and clean and the safest methods to stop warping etc.

Thanks in advance.

Depends how the floors are finished.

My 'engineered' wood floor is varnished.
It gets hoovered and wiped with a damp cloth.

If I was moving in to the house, it might be nice to give the varnish a rub down and a fresh coat while the room was empty.

If the floor is oiled or waxed. I'd read the destructions from the maker of the oil or whatever.

If you can find out exactly what the finish is, that would be helpful.

I would just vac it and use a well squeezed out mop using warm water and something like Zoflora.

You will soon get sick of it no matter how you do it.

Good info thanks.

I will try and find out what the floor type it is and update if if I get a suitable answer.

I was going to get a steam cleaner and realised it might be bad for the floor.

Vac, then mop, maybe use something like Pledge gentle floor cleaner. Leave to dry and then vac again (mopping will create more dust from any ground in dirt). No brush bar when vacuuming. Then replace with carpet smile
