Leathers - one piece/two piece and track days?

Hi All, I know this has been done before, but I'm changing to a sportier bike so that I can do a couple of track days a year, whilst still doing most of my riding on the road. Historically, I've had a two piece suit, or set that zips together, but have seen online that some tracks are tightening up on what they consider acceptable in terms of zips etc.
I know from experience that a one piece is a compromise everywhere but on track, but can't justify having a one piece for maybe three of four days a year. I guess the question is what is your experience of a two piece on a track day and what should I be looking for if I go that route? Or should I just have a one piece and play it safe?

I have exactly the same use case as yourself and I went two piece. Very glad I did.
Only done knockhill and croft but my two piece RST Airbag Sabre kit was accepted at both. The croft day was a No limits track day so if they are happy with it then it should be acceptable at most circuits.
Two piece means you have a sporty jacket you can wear with summer riding jeans. And in my case it also meant that I had the option of an airbag on my rides without going full sportbike with the sliders every time. Think you also get more pockets than with a one piece. In my suit the wee pockets are still s
te and I need a leg bag for my stuff on a longer ride.

I’m looking to do some track days next year (for the first time) ideally. I too am leaning toward a two-piece set. However, if you do like the idea of a one-piece but just worried about justifying it, have you considered looking on Vinted? Loads of bargains on there once you sort the wheat from the chaff.
I didn't get on track at Brands a couple of years ago with about a 6" gap. MSV website at the time said "full length" & no gap when arms raised. But a jobsworth stopped me going out, despite no gap/exposure when my arms were raised.
I argued the toss on email after the event & they eventually backed down & agreed to book me on another day, but still wouldn't guarantee the same thing wouldn't happen.
No bother at Snetterton with the same leathers, but try & get them to meet in the middle to save any grief.

This is exactly my concern as I read the same small print on their website. I’m sure the track day companies will say it’s down to the marshall and not them so that they can’t take responsibility but it’s a concern all the same with no clear solution beyond getting one piece
I don't do track days anymore but when I did I had a specific one piece suit I used. It's much easier to twist and move around on the bike without having a ring of doubled over leather at the waist with a zip. Also if you do fall off it's possible for the zip to snap open and you then scuff along on your back or side wearing out your skin and tissue in a very short time.
Also every part of the suit is designed for track use, so the fit is different, the venting is better, the cuffs are tighter to stop them riding up, all sorts of things are better in a single piece compared to a two piece for track use.

I had an older two-piece with about a 6 inch gap at the front
MSV said in the track briefing they would check before you go on track by raising your arms and when I checked, I could see my T shirt, even though I have a flat stomach
Luckily both times I've been it was just talk and no one actually checked
However, I've now bought a one-piece for that reason
