We’re working through a renovation and in the new year we’ll be focussing on heating, moving rads etc.
The house will be fairly well insulated, but is a 1920s so only so there’s much we can do.
In our current home we have the google nest, which is great and particularly useful to pre-heat the home when we’re away, and smart home/away detection. It also looks great.
That said, it’s taking the temp in the hallway so we often crank it up if we’re feeling cold in the lounge for example.
I’ve been recommended Tado, specifically the benefit in setting temps in each room which may be more useful as our new home will be 3 storey as opposed to 2.
Any Tado users here willing to share experiences? Anything negative to consider, batteries etc? Are the cost savings material? Is it user friendly etc?

Had a Nest (single zone, stat in the lounge) and switched to Tado (Thermostat + Smart TRVs) so I could get better control of the individual rooms. I couldn't find smart TRVs that could work with Nest (ie call for heat on their own), so went with Tado's ecosystem which does exactly what I wanted.
I also got some 90 degree adaptors for the TRVs which offset them from the radiator so they can get a more accurate temp reading, otherwise I had to mess with the calibration offsets and couldn't be bothered. Another solution is to get a smart TRV plus a stat for each room, but then it gets costly. The adaptor worked a treat.
