Hi all, I'm looking for a new daily driver as I'm bored of my old 06 fiesta and although it has been reliable, it's about to need a lot of work done on it that's worth more than what I could sell it for.

My commute is only max 20 miles a day and it's mostly through town/country roads so diesel is not an option for me.

I have been looking at all price ranges and I've changed my mind numerous times on what I want and still haven't made my mind up!

I would prefer a hatchback but I could get away with a saloon/SUV. I have most recently been trying to decide between going for a 2014 1.4 VW Golf or 2017 1.4 Seat Leon which ranges between £6k-£9k, or going for a more fun car like an 06-10 Audi S3 or a similar age Golf GTI. However, I would prefer not to get a car with loads of miles on it (unless you guys can convince me it's not a bad thing, I just don't want to get stung) and I don't know what to look out for on these models.

Are there any other recommendations that you guys have?

Thanks in advance smile

I think it would depend what your other requirements are, e.g. number of seats, performance, mpg etc.

Seat Leon FR petrol or Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 TFSi.
I wouldn't be particularly put off by mileage, by on condition and service history.

I picked up a really clean 2017 55k mile, FSH, F56 Mini Cooper S for £9.5k with a brilliant specification including XL Media, heated leather, Harmon Kardon audio, excitement pack etc back in September.

Its a brilliant daily driver. Surprisingly refined, comfortable and can easily return 45mpg on the motorway.

The Alfa's are great looking cars. not sure how reliable they are at that age though!
They're actually a reliable car the 1.4t drivetrain is well proven.
