I’ll be picking up a new car for my wife early next week - 2018. 718 Boxster S. She’d like a reverse camera added in addition to the front and rear park assist. I’d like this integrated to work when reverse is selected displaying an image on the PCM screen. Is this possible and what kind of money should this cost?
Cheers

We had this done on my wifes 2018 BGTS that we bought 2nd hand from a porsche dealership. They fitted it prior to our pick up and it works and looks nearly identical to the factory fit one. Works with steering guide lines etc.

Thanks could I ask which dealership fitted it and a rough idea what they charged please?

Sorry for the slow reply! It's was done by an Indy contracting to Porsche Bristol. Not sure who he was. And yes 500 ish iirc. So you could probably get it done by any competent audio visual car bod.

You can get the kit Here for £280 with a full install guide if you're brave enough. If not there will be installers familiar with fitting them.

Interesting as my car didnt come with a reverse camera and Porsche Glasgow said they couldn't retrofit one. Didn't want an aftermarket one so sourced an OEM camera and loom and get a local car hifi guy to retrofit it - the VAG retrofitters i contacted seemed to baulk at the prospect of cutting the bumper. Total cost ended up about 550.

Who supplied the OEM camera and loom? I'm presuming there's some coding to be done, or are they 'plug and play' using the OEM kit?

North East VAG Adaptions supplied the parts. Coding is just ticking the box to activate it in PIWIS, they did that too via a guy they have locally.
