488 - lights up but doesn’t unlock?
Discussion
Hello all,
Just a quick one - I have a 488, and it’s recently been in for a bit of warranty work.
It’s come back, and for some reason (it was fine at first), I go to unlock the car, and it lights up internally, beeps, but isn’t locked.
The windows also seem to do the standard 1cm drop, but don’t lift back up until the ignition is powered up, then they go back up.
Does anyone know what the issue is? Battery must be fine in the fob as the car is lighting up, beeping, just not actually unlocking the doors.

Hi
Mine did a similar thing the other day. In the end it was the battery (the car battery not the fob). It does strange things when the battery is on its way out.
maybe try disconnecting the battery (there should be an easy to reach lever on the negative terminal to do this). leave it 10 minutes. Reconnect and then try opening the car but with the trickle charge still connected?
even though it was only 1 year old I changed my car battery for a new gen Ferrari one (it had been sat not on a trickle charge for a few weeks at main dealer which I think finished it off??). It's been fine since new battery installed.
