Looking at passive ways of reducing moisture before I move on to thinking about dessicant dehumidifiers..

I often find things left on the floor have a lot of moisture underneath them, but then so do some metal cans when left on the shelves - so I'm not sure if its simply condensation in a cold garage, or damp rising through the concrete floor (probably both).

Either way, I plan to tackle some of it by sealing the concrete both on the floor and the walls.

Walls -
1) I plan to seal the joins with silicone (?) - should I consider anything else?
2) Paint the sections externally (that aren't already) with exterior paint
3) Paint the internal walls with something suitable - maybe the leftover exterior masonry paint.

Should I consider lining the walls with something? Perhaps ply? might help soak moisture in the air?!

Floor-
Plan A - Paint with floor paint?
Plan B - Use floor tiles?
Plan C - Both?

Not sure which is best for the floor ? Paint feels like it'll give better coverage, but tiles may also provide a layer of insulation?
