Legal problem - advice required please! Mercedes EV...

Hi everyone, I bought a 2022 E-Vito (66kwh battery) in February this year with only 6,000 miles on the clock.
It was all going well until one day in April I was parked at a suppliers early in the morning and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree saying:
1. Malfunction (battery icon).
2. See Owners Manual (battery icon).
3. Towing forbidden see owners manual.
4. Without changing gear consult workshop.

(Quick summary)
The van was then recovered on a flatbed to Mercedes. They told me it needed a software update and it was fixed.
It breaks for a second time.
Back it goes.
It then spends 2 months there, they told me it was fixed.
Breaks again - warning lights as detailed above.
Independent dealer I purchased the van from gave me a brand new 12v battery from Merc (£250) and said that should do it Merc are useless.
A few months later, van fails again, exactly the same error messages and now it's been at a different dealer for 3 weeks and they are now telling me they can't find a fault. HELP.

I am exploring the legal options to try and get my money back but aware that this may be unsuccessful and I could be stuck with the van. Which is currently damaging my reputation being self employed and needing a van.

Has anyone experienced this or got any suggestions?
Should Mercedes give me a new van? I don't really want a repeat... just give me an old Volvo 240.

Suppose you have to ask yourself why a two year old van only covered 6,000 miles.
Because it's EV or because it's crap?
If it's still under manufacturers warranty you'd hope they'd offer a courtesy car/van.
If not, that old Volvo looks very attractive.

Not sure why Mercedes should give you a new van if you bought this one used from an independent dealer?

I believe that if you can prove that the faults existed when you bought the vehicle, then the trader must pay for a repair. However, that's going to be difficult if no faults can be found (despite the dashboard lighting up).

I would have thought that honouring the manufacturer's warranty is the start and end of Mercedes' obligations.

If the fault in the vehicle arose less than 6 months after you bought it then it is the seller's problem as the onus is them to prove the fault wasn’t present when the car was sold.

I've had his help on 3 separate occasions over the last 15 years or so. All 3 cases ended in my favour.
He will prepare a report for you.
Then get a solicitor to start the ball rolling with the supplying dealer.
Did you pay for any part of the van on a card - even a deposit?

Out of curiosity why do you keep taking it to people other than the dealer you bought it off?
