Called at a local pub for lunch last Sunday, and was hit with it mid-meal.

Newcastle played it after the match on Saturday, and then it was on MOTD.

That’s bound to have caught a fair few.

Got busted on the 6th picking my car up from its MOT. The garage had turned off the head unit and without thinking I switched it back on again while trundling away from the forecourt - only for the song to start playing via local radio.

Didn't even last a week this year. frown

Pretty much. To see how far you get through December without hearing Last Christmas.

Also, you bd. I made it about 8 months.

I made it to Friday (13th) before hearing Carey's ste - at a services on the M6.

Surprisingly & despite having been in lots of pubs/bars, restaurants, shops & the hairdressers through Dec I'm yet to be whammed, wizard'ed or pogued - inevitably won't last.

Got Whammed within 7 hours of December starting! Daughter is a competitive figure skater and has early morning training session at the ice rink, so we're there at 6.30 am on Sunday mornings. One of the other skaters was practising a routine for a Christmas show with Last Christmas as the music, so got done within hours on 1st December. Didn't stand a chance!

biggrin

I guess it's inevitable if you're attending practice for a Christmas show involving popular Christmas music as the background. You should have used Whamageddon as the excuse for her having to walk to the ice rink and you being able to stay in bed until 10am!

Pffft. My dad's at 89 and a half years. As his self-appointed agent, I'm going to cash in big when he wins. Er, what is the prize, exactly?

Can't say I have heard of this, but I also carry my Google bud things with me everywhere this time of year, that way I just pop them in when going into a shop, even in the pub, as my hatred for Christmas music, 9 years now without listening to that awful Pogues song.
I know it seems bah humbug, but I am approaching 40, and for every single one of those years it has been the same 30+ songs that get played for a month solid fking everywhere, and considering my music player reckons I had 1200 new songs and artists this year, I am just not keen on listening to the mainstream garbage anymore.
Mind you someone did put 3 Christmas tracks on in the pub the other day via the jukebox, after I heard the first one I went out for a smoke, pulled out my phone, as you can log in to the jukebox from an application, where I proceeded to put the only acceptable Christmas number 1 on, Iron Maiden - Bring your daughter to the slaughter, followed by 24 minutes of Pink Floyd and 26 minutes of Kraftwerk, for the record, it was one woman who wanted Christmas crap on, nobody else did, so we all collectively rammed the jukebox full of good music.
