Help with over seas basketball coaching for an 18 year old

Hi all,

Currently my stepson is at a basketball academy in the UK , a mixture of coaching and exams ,
He's looking to progress and had found a few 'agents' on Instagram that say for an initial fee of £500 they can use their contacts to get him in a good team abroad, bit of a long shot, had anyone got any experience of this sort of thing ?
