I want to make one of these videos where I show the software on the screen and then I am shown in a small circle talking and walking people through an overview of the software. They are used by lots of companies and my question is essentially, which software is best/easiest for this? I have a decent cam and mic already.

I use OBS Studio and bought an Elgato streamlink for super slick transitions. Not necessary though!

That looks good. I watched this as a better demo of what it does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=web5p4O9r3A

Loom's good.

Couple of pro-tips to make your content look really good:

When recording you, look directly at the camera, not at your screen.

Don't use the false background. If what's behind you isn't particularly attractive, move to somewhere that is.

Thanks, how do I run through the software without looking at the screen?

That is a good point. Assuming the viewer will be more interested in that than what you look like then perhaps not that important! smile

Not done anything on this yet but I watched a video on Tella which uses AI to help with editing. I have to say it looks even better than Loom

Also... nice big soft light in front of you and above the screen. (Plenty on Amazon as cheap as chips, or just use a really cheap work light and place it behind a big bit of greaseproof paper.

And better still if you use a lapel mic, again, these can be had cheap as chips.

You don't need to, this fixes your eyes:

Record in Loom etc and Edit in Descript, its fantastic software.

I have been using this for years: https://www.zdsoft.com/ for screen recording.
