Friend of mine and I used to play a game called Army of Two, it was a forgettable shooter, but it did have a great split screen experience and we played it for hours together! Had lots of gun mods and the like, was a really fun blasty shooter.

Is there anything on the PS4 shooter wise that offers a decent split screen two player experience, not online just two guys side by side or top and bottom?

Timesplitters 2 supposedly does what you are looking for.

I've not played many/any split screen ps4 multi player / coop games myself.

A Way Out is supposed to be a good 2 player

Thinking about it Borderlands games are split screen coop. Just see which one you can get on your ps4 i think you can get borderlands handsome collection and that will have countless hours of couch split screen coop.
