Watching with interest , as I probably have very soon 600K or there about proceeds from house sale and likely to need to hold for 18 months to 2 years while house build gets kicked off ( Ie I wont need those funds until min 18 months )

I’m soon to have similar from a house sale combined with then working away until April 2026.
Easy option is just a decent anytime access savings rate of between 4~5% with various banks. I think there’s a few restricted access with higher. Or savings bond as mentioned above.
Vanguard S&P500 potentially a bit better, but slightly more risk. Would’ve done alright if was in it over the past year!

ETA: Mine has remained in a Chase SA at 4% mostly through laziness.
