K series 1.8.

125k

Currently having new cylinder liners, refurbished head, new head gasket, new water pump, new cambelt kit.

Is it (probably) safe after all this, or does it need moving on?

Well the windows and possibly sills/ subframe are fine.

Was more concerned if the engine should survive now?

Haha good to know, my experience is that once they had the modified cylinder heads fitted the engines were very robust, so I would expect you'll be good to go in the powertrain department at least

Ooooooh that's what I wanted to hear!

I'll wait for the gearbox/vcu/ird/diff bang next then.

I've never had a vehicle where I've had and seen new cylinder liners being fitted, it's a bit like watching open heart surgery and off putting.
