Honda and Nissan - potential merger?

Apologies if in the wrong place, or there's already a thread running (I couldn't find one), but it seems that Honda and Nissan may be considering a merger in order to have more of a chance of competing with EV manufacturers, particularly from China.

Its more that Nissan are going bust due to low sales and stopping their partnership with Renault.
Nissan need Honda.
Honda dont so much need Nissan.
