Thanks for the tip. Do you know if they also sell or will sell grandstand seating for this event?

Knowing them they will see what the trend is and open maybe one section of a main stand, saves money on stewarding.

There’ll be a very limited number of stands open, and Silverstone being Silverstone they won’t be the ones with the best views.
It’ll be an open paddock, not pit lane

Last time I did WEC there it was an open pit lane, (not during the race obvs). and a number of teams had tables set up for drivers doing signed photos etc.

True about the stands though.

According to their FAQ there will be. I cannot seem to find the info about the price rise on 6th January. Wish they would put them up on the site as don't want to get stung by a price rise just because they put grandstand seats up post 6th.

More info here: https://help.silverstone.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/2...

Grandstand seats will be included in the entry price, nit extra, and will be free roaming

Open paddock =/= open pitlane.

With the WEC race in 2019 it was an open paddock with an open pitwalk at some point during the day (It was the start of the day on the Sunday of the WEC race) similar to how events like British GT operate.

The grandstands that were open back then were: Opposite the F1 pits, Village, Vale and maybe part of the National Pit Straight IIRC.
I definitely don't remember the likes of Becketts, Chapel, Stowe etc. being open.

Oh that's a fair point actually, that's how they did it for the WEC when Silverstone used to host it

I was tempted, much as I hate Silverstone, but my daughter is getting married on the Saturday, so I suspect I'll be a bit busy that weekend.

I'd be amazed if they charge for grandstands, but it's Silverstone so who knows?

I think it will depend on pore sales, if it goes well they will charge to cover the 12 pound an hour security that have to be there, if not they will be free.

Thanks a lot! I’m checking it out now—looks really promising. I’d honestly love to go see it in person, but before making any big moves, I need to talk to someone at the Ally Financial phone number. They’re currently reviewing our financial situation to let us know what’s feasible. Hopefully things align, and we can make it happen. Fingers crossed, because it’s been a dream for a while now!

Against my better judgement (despise the way Silverstone treat club racers and any fans who aren’t interested in having their pants pulled down by F1) I was contemplating going tomorrow (Friday) but looking at the Silverstone Info it appears you can only view the action from the national side of the track with no access (general admission) to anywhere past Village/ Chapel, can anyone confirm this?

According to the thread on the Le Mans forum the map is misleading, and access is to the full track (with limited open grandstands)

I’m here as a family related guest at United Autosport. May go to some further races as a guest as my daughter in law and her husband are giving up their TP etc roles as it’s too impactful on life.
