Wandered down to the beach at Pattaya yesterday evening, hired some chairs from a street vendor (who didn't actually have any chairs but he requisitioned then from somewhere).

Spent an hour or two doing some discrete drinking before heading back. We reach the road and see three policemen urgently rushing over to where we were sat, big commotion, they're looking for somebody or something.

We made a dash for it through the shopping centre. No idea what was going on but didn't fancy being an official witness for a beach chair heist.

This has to be the first time I have heard of a bloke wandering down to Pattaya beach on a Friday evening and hiring a chair...

Pattaya beach in the evening is extremely popular with tourists taking part in hiring services, but plastic chairs is rather low on their wishlist hehe

update: apparently the elderly deck chair attendant had collapsed and the cops were going to help. it took four of them 25 minutes to get him standing safely and correctly.
