30k Budget - SUV/Estate
Discussion
Back again. Have spent the last few months saving so I've got a slightly bigger budget.
I need a bigger car for now and for longer term. I'm looking for a daily car, that I can do long trips with. It needs to fit golf clubs, golf trolley, and a suitcase in it (preferably all in the boot) or multiple suitcases as I regularly travel to play golf tournaments. I do like my luxury and technology. Fuel economy I would like to be decent - but it doesn't have to be stupidly good. Electric is a non starter as the infrastructure just isn't there for me. Naturally this has led me down the SUV/Estate route. I was pretty set on an SUV a few months back but my eyes have been opened to an estate. I'm now sort of at the stage where either or would be good. There are some non negotiables for me - it must have car play, leather seats, cruise (adaptative a nice bonus). Ideally I'd want a lower mileage car that I can use for 10 years or so. Something comfortable for those long drives but that also can be a little fun. I anticipate kids in the future as well, so something practical for that purpose is also going to be needed. Ideally I'd like an approved used for warranty purposes and some peace of mind but I'll likely just use a specialist for servicing etc anyway. I guess fuel wise diesel is probably better for me but I'd consider petrol. I have no interest in a hybrid, mild hybrid would be ok. I think I also want a sun roof - for those sunny countryside driving days. Edit: I should probably add, there might the odd occasion I've got two adults with me in the back.
Here's some I've looked at:
BMW 5 Series Touring - seems to be a good option but interior is lacking for me and it's difficult to find one within budget (that has the 21 facelift) but they do exist
Mercedes E Class Estate - My current car is a W177 A Class, so it has the updated facelift, infotainment etc. Similar to the above - finding one of these with that facelift is somewhat difficult, and might be out of budget. The ones that do pop up have higher mileage than I'd like. Safe option though - I know I'd like this.
Mercedes GLC - Similar to the above, safe option but difficult to find the facelift model with the infotainment (and therefore carplay) in my budget.
Cheers for any suggestions.

Volvo v90.
I'd agree with this. R-Design or Inscription trim though. An example:http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2024111161...
Another vote for a V90. What about the cross-country model as a halfway house to SUV-dom?

Feel like I should reply as have recently been looking at similar cars for different reasons and was previously a W177 owner also.
V90
A6 45/50/55
Arteon R (doesn't need to be a Shooting Brake)
Skoda Superb Sportline 280
All worth a look.
GLC face-lifts with MBUX start 2020. E Class face-lifts 2021 and new C Class from 2022 - plenty GLC around under £30k if you are patient - even the GLC 300.
Another one to look out for it you can consider a hybrid is the 508 SW PSE, very rare
