Just watched this on BBC2, a ride down memory lane commemorating Dave Myers life. Culminating with the Motorbike ride on Dave Day. The room was very dusty when 1000s of bikers turned out for the ride.

I'm not ashamed to admit to having a tear in my eye when Si and Lili hugged at Barrow; what an emotional day for them.

A wonderful tribute to Dave, well done UK bikers.

I stumbled across this last night, and thought it was very good.

Bugger, that was a bit moving, makes you realize how fragile life is; the fact that so many turned out, gives an indication of how much they were liked.

I’m not trying to make a preachy (for want of a better word)statement, but the TV networks, would do well to reflect on why they were so popular.

Si delivered the programme with dignity and warmth.

Lovely epitaph to DM

Was a programme on a couple of years ago after Si's illness, where he visited similarly ill folk in hospital. He comes across as a genuinely lovely bloke and a perfect foil for Dave.

Wife and I were driving to the Lakes on holiday that day. I’d not realised what was going on but we got onto the M6 at J13 and it was eerily, disconcertingly empty.

Then I noticed a few police cars waiting to block the junction. Then I saw the first bridge and the people and banners and worked out we were just ahead of the main party. All the way up there were bikes with us, evidently getting ahead to the next muster point and the crowds on the bridges waved like nutters.

We were going on up to the Penrith junction, north of the Barrow turnoff and there were also hundreds of Scottish bikes heading south, to join in. Have to say, Dave Day was one of the most incredible experiences and something we will never forget.

Used to enjoy their Planet Rock show too. Always played the Scorpions.
