Morning all. Whilst its quiet at work I'm planning whats becoming an annual European city break in May and given I've flown into Geneva a few times before but never actually been into the city or stayed there, I thought it was time to give it a try (cheap flights from Manchester etc).

So is Geneva worth a look? I thought about maybe spending a few days there and doing a day around the city and a day hopping on a train elsewhere (quite fancy a day out to Verbier - do a bit of a walk, see the mountains etc). Any recommendations of things to do/see and places to stay? Looked at a few hotels very quickly near the station which looks like its a short walk over the river to the centre...

cheers!
Dave

Honestly, Geneva is a bit dull and expensive. I wouldn't choose it for a city break. There are plenty of other more exciting cities in Europe. Most people in the winter are using Geneva airport as an entry point for ski destinations in France and Switzerland.
