I would like to add something to monitor the power consumption of my ASHP installation, as an aid to getting it set up to optimise running costs/efficiency.

Best info I'm getting currently is via my Zappi EV chargers CT clamp, which gives me a nice graph of whole house consumption, but can only go back one day, then switches to a week at a time.

Ideally something that I can wire in myself at the garage consumer unit, and get detailed daily info via an Android app.
An additional outside temperature sensor, visible at the same time as the consumption graph, would be helpful so that I can track performance against outside temperature.
The ability to show cost per hour or whatever on a dual rate tariff would be useful too.

I'm basically trying to optimise the weather compensation curve and overnight setback, which looks like it'll be a long-term project.

Is Shelly the best way to go?

Sounds like you want a datalogging app that you can use with various hardware?
Or a piece of hardware with memory in it, which will take data from various sensors?

Unfortunately my experience is either expensive industrial stuff or DIY with an arduino or similar.

Shelly do a wifi 2 channel power monitor, around £60 with a 50A clamp.
Looks like I should be able to fit the clamp inside the garage CU, and power it from a 13A socket close by. Saves me touching the live wiring in the CU.

They also do a weatherproof temperature sensor for £20. Bluetooth, so no wiring.
I've already got an unused Shelly Bluetooth "hub"' from failed motion sensor setup I tried (too laggy because it's cloud-based).

The thing I'm not sure about is how usable and useful the data will be via the Shelly app. Looks like it's stored for a year on the Shelly cloud.

Wago do a range of transformers & meters:

No idea what the app is like though.

I've had a closer look at the Shelly app, and it allows me to set up a dual rate tariff.
Watching a couple of videos, it looks like it should show the info I need - half-houly consumption of the heatpump and controls, plus daily cost.

I can get the monitor, clamp, and outdoor sensor from the Shelly Store on Amazon for £73. Shelly app is free, although they offer a Premium subscription for around £35 a year.
I think the free version will suffice.

Shelly stuff apparently integrates well with HA. One day I may bite the bullet and learn how it works.

I can already get whole-house data from the Octopus Mini and the Zappi app.
