I have a set of Weiss Gold FI-R’s fitted to my 991.2 GT3. Love them and I’d say there’s a slight difference in ride I noticed on our roads….a very slight difference.
One word of warning BBS are a bit of a nightmare in my experience, the wheels are made in Japan and then painted in Germany (at least mine were). It took quite a long time and some fairly blunt communications towards the end of the process to get them delivered. That said Rimstyle who are the UK importer were very good to deal with and offered total transparency on the delivery issues…and were cheaper than the likes of JCR and JZM who also sold them at the time.

If you can find a set in stock somewhere I’d probably pay the premium if they were more expensive than a set ordered from the factory….

I went for the Mag wheels, luckily I spotted one had a crack after 4 years and BBS/Manthey were very supportive and provided a new wheel FOC. The FI-R saves 70% of the weight reduction of the Mags over OEM, and the Mags are almost twice the cost now!
In well over 100k miles on mags, from 964RS through 993GT, and CGT it's the first issue I have ever had with a magnesium wheel failing. I suspect it was a manufacturing defect on the GT3T wheel.

I managed to crack 3 993GT wheel centres one of which was new (probably new/old stock) and Porsche replaced under the 2 year warranty on new parts, I didn't get a chance to crack any more as someone broke into my garage and nicked them.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
