Hi All,

I will be looking at a 2nd hand Porsche Cayman 981 GTS shortly - this has 2 year or 20k miles service intervals, whichever comes first. The car was registered in Jan 2015 and service 3 was done in March 2019, ie 2 months late. Mileage between service 2 and 3 was only 7k miles so low, but wondering if this is an issue. Possibly overthinking this, but would appreciate other thoughts.

Thanks

Assuming its not actually missed a service to now I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Wouldn’t worry me at all, particularly with the low mileage in between.

Thanks for replies. All services have been done with the first in Jan '19 and second in Jan' 21.

Just noticed wrong dates - 1st was Jan '17 & 2nd Jan '19. 3rd was March '21.

I think it will turn to dust very soon so best avoided.

Is very common for people to miss service dates and just book it in when the lights been on a while. Lower mileage sports cars also get parked up for a longer period of time so not noticed.

We have a client that returned 2 fairly expensive cars earlier in the year as he was out of the UK during the first lockdown and had not come back to the UK. Those cars have missed several service's and MOT’s but still sold quickly.

Another scenario is the car was traded in before it was was due its next service and I only got done when the car was sold on. This might show in MOT history

No concern in the slightest - but nothing to stop you trying to use it as leverage to negotiate a bit off.

The two month late service in 2021 is no issue whatsoever not even for any official Porsche warranty if in place.

But has it been serviced in early 2023?

Are the services official Porsche OPCs if not any warranty could be impacted.

Yes serviced early 2023. Last 2 not via OPC but not under warranty anyway.

Thanks for all your replies.

The general concensus so far is that this isn't an issue, which was my initial view, but good to hear other opinions.
