OSB flooring

I’ve had to take up the floor in the bedroom and have most of the boards come up in good usable condition(they weren’t glued, which was part of the floors problem) . Are different manufacturers boards interchangeable?

Ie if my boards are egger will they work with caberdek?

Are we talking OSB or Chipboard?

Internal floors generally chipboard.

From direct experience, not all chipboard boards of the same thickness are interchangeable.

Boards from a late 90s house didn't mix with new boards from Wickes.

Egger and caberdeck definitely don't slot into each other.

They are not fully compatible with each other, they will fit together ish, but will leave gaps, some D4 glue would probably fill the gap though, and remember you can get 18 & 22mm. T&G 8x2 osb is for roofs, not floors, you want chipboard, its all treated now so you don’t get the choice of brown or green

Thanks all. It’s for the bedroom so internal. Some of the boards I can’t get up as the last owner built the separating wall for the bathroom on top of the floor. I could chop off the ends that come through but would rather have them join up if possible.

It may have been once upon a time, but you can get OSB floor boards from a lot of places now.

Interesting, I’ve only seen it sold at roofing merchants. I always use 22mm, I wonder how this compares at 18mm.

Can anybody identify the make of these boards? 22mm chipboard floorboards. Want to get the best fit possible on the new boards I’m buying.
