Hi,

Looking to purchase a Vantage and interested in a 2023 model. It would appear that price of the pre-owned car is more than the new price.

Just wondering if someone could correct me with my figures - New price in 2023 £101,000 - Pre-owned car today £110,000 (14 months old)

Where do you get your 'new' 2023 price from?

That 2018-2023 model Vantage, commonly referred to in this corner of PH as the 'old new' Vantage (as opposed to the preceding n/a or VH Vantage or the succeeding 'new new' Vantage was priced at £125k before options at launch in 2018.

The new new car, with deliveries starting last year is £165k base with no options.

I bought one in late 2019 so looking at the invoice and then allowing for a price rise to 2023 I would think around the £130k mark assuming a standard V8.
I would guess the average price of options then added is perhaps around the £25k figure so say circa £ 155k list ?

As noted by Calinours and alscar I’m not sure where you’ve got that number from but it’s definitely incorrect. The price hike compared to the previous generation Gaydon car was a big issue at the time and most cars came in around £150,000 specced up, from a base list of circa £20,000 above what you’ve quoted. BRM.

Hi, Great Thank you for all the replies - Simply got my figures wrong.

I am moving from a Jaguar F type to a Vantage either 2021, 2022 or 2023.

Unless you are looking for a specific version (convertible, V12, manual, F1), there's not much difference at all between any year of that generation. Just find a car that best fits the color combo and options you want at a decent price for the year and mileage. If it checks out to be a solid car, then go with it. That's how I ended up with a 2020.

Welcome to the forum John.

Obviously I don't know how much you have studied the various Vantage models, neither do I know how long you like to keep your cars.
Of the three marques of Vantage, some have been more popular and therefore more in demand than others.

Might an alternative plan be a possibility for you?
Have you considered any of the last VH Vantages (up to 2018)?
Here is a list of the Limited and Special Editions.

There are some crackers amongst those models, which might not involve any, or much depreciation.

If perhaps you like to change your sports cars every 3 or so years, a plan that I would consider, would be a late VH model now, then perhaps in 3 years time, change to a 2024 (new, new) Vantage. It might turn out to be an interesting and reasonably economical plan.
