Morning all
Would love to pick the brains of the knowledgable souls on something new for me.
Having had a delivery for a new Mini Cooper SE electric arranged for over a month, I got a call yesterday from the dealer just over a day before the delivery day to say Mini had put the cars on a “campaign hold.” They can’t give anymore detail or any estimated delivery schedule as it stands. I’ve requested a courtesy car in the meantime which they say they are unable to fulfil .
As we have sold one of our other cars ready for the delivery, it’s fair to say this is less than ideal as it leaves us with only one car but I’ve never heard of this term before.
Has anyone else experienced it, know of the issue with the current Mini delivery stock or can offer any advice on how best I might deal with this?
Thanks in advance

They’ve probably seen cptsideways post and cancelled all deliveries/builds due to the outrageous social media post.

(More seriously, no I haven’t heard)

In basic terms they have discovered an issue or fault with the cars, so they have launched a campaign to rectify before they are shipped to dealers or delivered to customers.

It could be something as simple as software or a part needs replacing.

Might be worth contacting Mini directly to see what the issue is and a timeframe to rectify.

We recently bought a demonstrator from Mini partly because we were told that it isn't possible to order a specific specification of car but rather the dealer has to be able to secure a car that is being sent over anyway. Don't know if that is connected.

The other issue was that the demonstrator needed to have a new brake sensor fitted as well as a software upgrade as part of a recall. If this is something that they need to do to every car that has been produced then that may cause delays in shipping.

Thanks for your insights guys, hopefully they will give us an update with a new ETA for our car soon.
Not impressed at the lack of courtesy car from the dealer given they’ve told only us very last minute and left us in the lurch
