Hi,
I have an base A110 on order, due March (can't wait!).
My current car has a Vodafone tracker fitted to it, and I have the option (at a cost) to move my tracker from my existing car to the A110 when it arrives.
My subscription is due for renewal soon, so I'm trying to work out if I should bother to renew and move the tracker to my new car, or just cancel it.
Have others had a tracker fitted, was the fitting trouble free, and was it worth while (has it resulted in lower cost insurance)?

Had a tracker, would much sooner not have but insurance mandated it.

Never seen the benefit to me; if the car's nicked, I'm not sure I'd want it back. It's only a benefit to the insurer.

Really ought to have a dig about and work out where it is and remove it to get rid of the parasitic battery drain.

Not an Alpine but had one on my 350z and VXR8.

Resulted in on average about £150-200 per year less on my premium in the London area, which was fine for my subscription of about £45 but I do realize some tracker subscriptions are 2 or 3 times the price and unlike premiums don't fluctuate because of your postcode.

You might need to do some quotes/math.

I have one from Trutrak, easy to install, and not just sitting on top of the battery, its pretty well hidden, 12 months is £60.

Customer service always very good, data it captures is good, can set up alerts and all sorts of fancy things, or just have it sitting there quietly.

I actually use the turn on/turn off summary data for when I arrive/leave the work car park as my work timesheet.

I've got a Global Telemetrics tracker in my Land Rover 90 (proper one, hence worried about it being nicked). Works very well indeed. I had the same model in my last A110, fitted by a local place that does them, because my insurer LV refused to touch me (on-street parking) without it.

I agree that there's not much point otherwise - does anyone nick an Alpine? Bit niche for that. I won't bother putting one in my new Alpine, I have a new insurer/address and they didn't even ask.

Thanks, that's really good to know, I think that's helped make up my mind.

AirTags in the car are ok but won’t deter a determined scrote and may even help them. The anti-stalking feature mean that if the aforementioned scrote has an iPhone, they will be alerted to the AirTag’s presence and then they can go looking for it.

A way to make life much harder for them if AirTags are to be used is to remove the speaker so it would be more difficult to locate (no beeping).
