Clonk from underneath at the back ?

Hi guys,
Finally bought myself a '97 griffith 500 after wanting one for too long. If anybody could help, I have a clonk coming from the back on accelerating and lifting off. Ive done about 1000 miles in the last couple of weeks and its gradually got worse. I know its not much to go on but any advice would be appreciated. Is there a South East TVR club ?

Perhaps a diff mounting bush coming loose or complete failed. Better not leave it too long and don't give it too much welly before it's fixed, because it's possible to damage the diff casing.

I think you need to get this car of yours up in the air with the weight off the rear wheels and have a good check of the drive train daveg500. It's not unusual for the prop-shaft flange bolts to become loose resulting in elongated holes and necked bolts; I had similar symptoms/cause with my Griff. The fact that it's getting noticeably worse over a short period of time could easily point to this.

Don't overlook other potential contributors however e.g. CV joints and suspension componentry. Get it checked out soonest!

Sounds like just the same problem as on my Griff. Fixed by David Gerald's 5 hours all 3 bushes and by all accounts bit of job (diff out).With service, car now running smoother than ever before.
