Worst wheel designs by vehicle manufacturer?

Ford Ka 3 spokes. All sorts of wrongness and unevenness.



What's your worst? I think a lot of modern wheels could fit here...

Not necessarily a design, but I can't say that I'm a big fan of diamond cut wheels to be honest. I much prefer silver, and I'd even have black now over diamond cut to be fair.

I find a lot of three spoke design wheels marmite as well OP.

My car has the black and silver diamond cut thing, I'm not a fan. Those get bonus points though, for the 4 bolts, 5 spokes, and not giving a st about what happens in the middle.

Any multi-spoke design that looks nice when clean but takes ages to clean..

The BBS cross spokes that my old Golf VR6 had were typical of the type.

Three strikes - Diamond cut. No continuous rim making it nearly impossible to set toe-in with my laser tracker. No access to barrel/calipers when cleaning and has a dirt trapping channel immediately behind the 'spokes'. - and out!

They're bloody heavy too.



Might still change to these.

Any three spoke wheel can get in the bin, horrible things.

I'd agree many are terrible, trying to make them aerodynamic or futuristic 'looking,' but that's a big brush there!

One of the factors that persuaded me to take the Honda eNy1 PCP deal last Spring was that the wheels are OK, IMHO. Catalogue photo:

I’ve got one of these Fiat 500e’s, the wheels on my La Prima look great I think, but the wheels on these Armani Edition models look absolutely horrific

I know I nominated Vauxhall on the other thread for some cool alloys. But these Belmont alloys were just vile, looked worse than steels & trims & probably weighed more too!

Didn't spot this at first but...

I do like Tesla's removable trim with a decent wheel underneath though, but from the point that diamond cut wheels hit the market it's been downhill all the way, from an aesthetics perspective at least.

I only remember them as I wanted to buy some SRi alloys for my Cavalier, went to look at a set (remember adverts with no pictures in the local paper) and these were there. My disappointment is still palpable.



I still really like these, but only on a Mk.2 Cav or Mk.1 Astra GTE.
