Extending a lease deal

Would you say leasing companies want you to extend a 2/3 year lease when your contract is coming to an end? Or is very much 50/50?
The only people who could answer this would be your leasing company. It will be case-by-case dependent mainly taking into account a number of factors with your lease - what the value of the vehicle will be if they go for disposal at the end of the term versus what the value of the vehicle will be at the end of the extended term. Will the incremental income generated from the extension offset the depreciation in holding the vehicle on the register for longer etc.
I've extended some at reasonable cost, and been quoted crazy numbers on others.
Seems to be a bit random.
Don't know if it's still their policy but I had a vehicle with Leaseplan who would let you extend pretty much indefinitely for the same monthly payment. Was really handy to tie in with the next lease.
