Anyone know of a baby gate (or other gate, barrier type thing) that will fit a doorway with very little depth?

Usual pressure fit ones that go inside the doorway are no good as there is not enough space.

Looking for something that would fit on the outside and then attach to the door frame with fixings going perpendicular rather than parallel if that makes sense.

I could attach a block of wood to the frame and then use a "normal" baby gate but would rather something designed for it.

Doesn't need to be particularly strong or heavy duty.

They have roller gates which clip in place.

This sort of thing. It's a pet one, but they do ones r kids as well. Only suitable for bottom of stairs

I’d suggest you post a photo or two of the door frame as it’s difficult to understand what you’re trying to achieve. Have you seen the V-shape fixings that come with some brands of gate?

Excellent that would do the job!

This is the door frame. Not enough space for a standard gate where the fixing is parallel to the wall.

Batons at the right width either side of the frame would do it. Router the edges to make it look nice, perhaps?

I'd expand upon that and create a U shape out of wood that goes over the door jamb. You can then screw whatever you want into that.

We've got a couple of these. Personally, i would go for one with screw on fixings as the expanding ones leave a rail at the bottom that's a tripping hazard right where you don't want it.

These will fit inside doors, across doors or even at weird angles and unclip when you're not using them just leaving some unobtrusive white brackets:

Can be fixed internally or externally dependent on needs.
