Following the death of Eric’s wife, the contents of their house went up for auction this weekend including his iconic glasses….

I did have a mind to bid on one of his watches when I saw this announced late last year but time got away from me.

The auctioneers website has a quick video tour of his home which was left as a time capsule after he died in the eighties.

Pretty sure his Interceptor has survived.
I didn’t realise that he severed his partner ship with Ernie, any idea when ?

His interceptor survived and was sold by Silverstone a few years ago.

The MD there owned it and there was a lovely video at the time with Eric’s son and the guy who drove Eric to the hospital reunited with the car.

I believe the car now lives in London and would love to see it one day.

it seems like an odd decision for the family to sell things that I would have thought would feel like their connection to him.

Most people have to pay to get their parents house emptied when they die, or bag it up for the charity shop. They managed to get half a million.
