Apple iPhoto software is fantastic for creating dynamic looking slideshows where the photos glide in and out seamlessly. I particularly like the way it zooms in or out of an image giving an almost video like appearance to the show.
Is there anysoftware which will do likewise for the PC?

I got something free (so it might be complete parc ) with PCW recently.

Roxio "MyDVD Slideshow VCD" (sic!)

Dunno what it does*, but I keep meaning to find out. Maybe this does it?

*So, actually, this post doesn't answer your question at all!

Oddly enough I installed My DVD last night, it came as a bundle with an Iomega Dual layer DVD rec.
Played about with MyDVD but have to say so far the results dont look too promising. Nasty interface, very lmited transitions. No faciltiy to pan, scroll, zoom images.

Sorry

Try Microsoft Photo Story - I think it's still free

I too have the Apple software and it looks MILES better than anything on a PC - that I have ever found!

The one I use on the PC is Screen Saver Studio - lots more variables, but not as sexy. Trial version is free I believe

Yes I'm tempted to buy an apple purely for photo use.

I tried Photo Story 3 for windows, its pretty easy but it seems (after using it for all of 5 minutes) you have to compromise on picture resolution in the final production

I use google's Picasa v2 (Free download) to catalog my images. you can add keywords to photos and perform quick adjustments colour contrast levels.

Also includes a slideshow which is pretty cool.

Give it a try .....its amazing for the price ( free !)

Ulead Video Studio will let you do this and allows you to pan and zoom the images.

You can create a VCD as well
