Hi all, I am after a circular logo for my new drone business (very small / local). I have managed to create a few square ones in Windows Paint however it won't let you crop it to a circle. I am using my rectangular one for now, but I just think getting a proper one done would be better. As it is a tiny little venture where I am not making much (can't even get any work at the moment) I am loathe to spend lots of money. Local FB groups have some contacts who offer this service however they aren't getting back to me and are quoting into 3 figures to supply something I can likely do myself. So 3 questions:
- Who do you contact for a bespoke logo - any business advice consultant or is there a standard process for this?
- What should I expect to pay?
- Do I need to bother, should I just stick to my square rectangular version?
Thanks in advance. The business is 4K photography / videography for residential / commercial use and also other requirements such as roof / site inspections, hobbyists, special occasions e.t.c. My main strength is in the editing suite so I am aiming to produce short media clips for businesses to promote themselves, or packages for residential properties who want aerial footage and shots, set to music e.t.c.

I am using it purely as a corner watermark in my footage, but I think a circle will be better. My main issue is I can't cut or crop a circle in Paint, only square. And I am conscious that I need a perfect circle saves as a file for it to work when I over lay into media, hence why I am trying to ensure it is correct.

I am hoping that has saved as a circle, the file still has a square around it. Will experiment!
All images are square, you need something with a transparent background for the bits you don't need. When opening your file in photoshop it opens with a transparent background so should work. I've resaved it here, see if this works.
Photoshop (and most others) puts a grey/white chequer to identify transparency, here is a crop of your image you uploaded.

Fiverr.com surely?
That's my recommendation too. When I set up my Limited Company in 2020, I entered the logo requirements into Fiverr.com and very promptly received some great ideas that aligned with my brief.
I selected an excellent design, that I still use now - and all for (literally) just a few quid.
Try using snappa.com
It's much better than paint, has loads of free to use images, if you type drone there will be loads come up, then you can play around and add text etc and change the background. You choose your image size first, go with 160 x 160 for a logo to start with and see how you get on.
I think you get a limited number of downloads per month on the free version so make sure you are happy before you download it.

Well after managing to solve the logo issue, attention now turns to Youtube banner This has been an nightmare for a week or so now. I have exhausted the online tools to try and crop and fit the banner to my YT channel screen however whatever I use either doesn't download, doesn't work or doesn't fit properly. Does anyone know of a decent site that will simply crop an image to fit?

It’ll be an aspect ratio thing, you just need to add some white space somewhere so it can crop at the right ratio. The banners are very wide and short, your logo is square, so maybe the image have lots of white (or populated) space to the right side of it. You could put some text or whatever to fill the space
ETA: you need the dimensions mentioned above but lots of white space, or filler, to get the logo in the right place

Yes, I have used some resizers online but they just don't conform as they promise too. Annoyingly, YT says it needs to be ? x ? pixels, and when you then resize it and upload it gives a different message saying actually it must be ? x ? different to the previous numbers!
I have managed to create a long and thin image and am playing now.
