can anyone out-stupid this???

after weeks of trying to find out why my chim was running a bit rough. After replacing the airflow meter (at the advice of a garage)....cleaning the stepper motor god knows how many times...and replacing the spark plugs, coil and finally the HT leads i noticed that the *$%&*(g distributer was loose!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Andy,
when you say the dizzy was loose, do you mean the whole thing or just the cap? I'm interested because mine seems to intermittently run poorly and I tried changing several items, and was thinking of replacing the airflow meter.

No it was the whole thing!!!...the timing must have been all over the place!
I took it to a garage and they recommended changing the air meter!!!
The car ran fine when it was warm...but every now and then it would run like a bag of nails. Definately check your timing before replacing the air meter.
£30 for a timing check and £100+ for an air meter!

I dont beleive it...i have been out stupid'!!!!!!!!!

At least i have managed to fend of going down the isle with a big sharp stick!!!
